A deal with the devil

Episode 2: A Deal with the Devil

Morning. The sun spills through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting long shadows across the penthouse suite.

The silence was suffocating.

Advika’s head pounded like a relentless drum, the aftermath of too much alcohol and too much heartbreak. But it wasn’t the hangover that sent a chill down her spine — it was the man standing at the window, his back to her, his presence heavier than the silence.

Reyansh singh Ranawat.

The name echoed in her mind now — like a cruel twist of fate.

He wasn’t just any man. He was him — the most powerful business tycoon in the country. A king in every sense. Ruthless. Untouchable. Dangerous.

And she…

She had woken up in his bed.

Her dress — slightly wrinkled. His shirt — still unbuttoned. The faint scent of whiskey and tension clung to the air.

She swallowed, her throat dry, as last night’s reckless actions flashed in her mind — the fury, the pain, the storm she had carried into his world.

“Leave,” Reyansh voice was low, controlled — but beneath the calm, there was something lethal simmering.

A command, not a request.

Advika's heart thundered, but her chin lifted — defiance flickering in her broken gaze. “I didn’t ask to be here.”

Reyansh turned.

His dark eyes — sharp as a blade — pinned her to the spot. “And yet here you are.”

Her stomach twisted. She wasn’t scared of him — not exactly — but there was an undeniable weight in his presence. He was a man who didn’t need to raise his voice to break someone; his silence did the job.

But Advika was too shattered to care.

She took a slow breath. “I’ll leave,” she said, her voice quieter now. “But before I do… I have a proposal.”

For the first time since the sun rose, a flicker of surprise crossed Reyansh’s face — gone just as quickly as it came.

His jaw tightened. “A proposal?”

Her lips trembled, but she pressed on — fueled by anger, by betrayal, by the desperate need to take back control of her life. “Marry me.”

The air shifted.

The silence now wasn’t just heavy — it was dangerous.

Reyansh didn’t move — didn’t blink — but something dark uncoiled within him, like a beast waking up.

“Excuse me?” His voice was a whisper — the kind that made people beg for mercy.

Advika’s heart pounded against her ribs, but she didn’t back down. “Marry me. No one has to know. No media. No family. Just a contract between us.”

Her words hung in the air, bold and reckless.

Reyansh took a step forward — slow, calculated. “And why,” he asked softly, “would I do that?”

Her fingers curled into fists at her sides, her broken heart screaming for vengeance. “Because I need power.” Her voice cracked — but not with weakness. “I need your name, your protection. I want nihal and Nisha to suffer the way they made me suffer — and the only way to do that is to make sure I rise higher than they ever can.”

She met his deadly gaze, refusing to flinch. “I don’t want love. I don’t want sympathy. I want revenge. And you… you’re the most powerful man in the country.”

Reyansh didn’t respond immediately.

He simply watched her — like a predator sizing up whether its prey was worth the hunt.

Then — a ghost of a smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. “You think I’m a weapon you can use?”

Advika didn’t blink. “I think you’re the only weapon sharp enough.”

Silence again.

But this time — a spark crackled in the air.

Reyansh stepped so close she could feel the heat radiating off him — feel the weight of his fury and power.

“You have no idea what you’re asking for,” he murmured — a warning wrapped in velvet.

Advira's voice didn’t waver. “I’m asking for a deal. Nothing more.”

Another long pause.

Then — Reyansh tilted his head, his smirk vanishing. “Fine.”

Her breath caught.

He leaned in, his words brushing against her skin like a dark promise. “But understand this, Advika Kapoor — once you take my name, you belong to me.”

Her heart pounded louder. “It’s just a contract.”

Riaan’s eyes flashed — a warning, a threat. “Nothing with me is ever just a contract.”

And in that moment — Advira realized she hadn’t just made a deal with a businessman.

She had made a deal with the devil himself.
